Meet Kesha The Divine Doula

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For me it is an opportunity to honor the glory of God by being in the service for women, babies and their families. Doula work is advocacy on steroids.
All women, especially black women, need an advocate who has their back and will hold their hand/hold space throughout their labor experience and postpartum journey. I plan on spending the rest of my life in being a Mother, an advocate, a birth doula, a sister, mother-friend, a girlfriend, an educator, a guidance counselor, and mentor, and a role model all-in-one.
As your doula, my highest priority is to remind you of your power. I will always be ready to protect your autonomy throughout your labor experience.
I am here to hold space for your journey, your story matters, because every woman is different, and no two pregnancies are the same. The pregnancy journey does not stop after the baby is born, it is merely the beginning of a new chapter. The new mom is introduced to her new life and I will meet you after postpartum to assist you with anything you need done around the house + to hold space to retell your birthing story.  I am a breastfeeding advocate but it is my duty to encourage and give support on your feeding choices.
This whole journey is an intimate experience between mother and baby. It is an honor for me to be apart of your journey and to celebrate you. It is a Jubilee.
My name is LaKesha and I would love to be your doula. Jubilee Birth would love to be apart of your village.
To also, provide culturally sensitive adult based education, and to work closely with the new family to identify their needs and values going into the newborn and postpartum journey.
